主讲人简介 | Michael Herty holds a chair professor (W3) position for numerical analysis at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. He was a core participant in KI-Net, an NSF research network in mathematical science. His research interest focuses on Mathematical modeling and computation using partial differential equations and its applications in supply chain, traffic flow, gas dynamics, and machine learning. And he has been awarded several funds on these topics by DFG and DAAD. | ||
讲座内容摘要 | Abstract: We will discuss recent advances in the application of particle methods and kinetic theory in different fields of application. The latter covers general optimization problems, multi-objective minimization, deep neural networks, as well as high-performance computing. Further, the hydrodynamic interpretation of many particle systems is explored for complex computational fluid dynamics problems with possibly high-dimensional input. An overview of current approaches ranging from generalized polynomial chaos to tensor train methods is given. Numerical examples as well as outlook for further applications are given. |
